Summary/Abstract: Mentoring occurs in many different formats including the traditional one-to-one relationship, and one-to-group relationship. Mentoring has quickly become the major resource to exchange information particularly in schools, higher education, universities and the management professions. It is beginning to play an important role in burgeoning “distance learning” programmes and is increasingly recognisable in many countries throughout the world. Mentoring has proven useful in all stages of personal and professional development, throughout the university, from the start of an activity to the highest level of professionalization
