Summary/Abstract: In this article we analyze the literary weekly Correo del domingo and its impact on the formation of a new visual culture in Buenos Aires during the 1860s. We start by considering the publication in its textual and iconic aspects, understood as a thermometer of the reconfigurations that they operated in the visual field and as an artifact that condensed the disturbances of the perceptive face in a city that promoted new looks and questioned the regime of vision.
