The body as a pedagogical category

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the current article is to indicate meaningfulness and essence of the human body, as well as placement of its specificity in educational reality. This consideration has been grounded on personalistic way of understanding the human being and also integral conceptualization of its somatic dimension. Karol Wojtyla's personalistic philosophy has been the inspiration for pedagogy and body pedagogics. Thus, a question has arisen considering validity of body formations and its necessity for becoming the subject of pedagogical inquiry. The answer to it is not part of the present article, though.
