Summary/Abstract: The authors consider the .period following 24 August 1944 and the Russian occupation of Romania. The archive documents the authors have investigated describe the abuses the Romanian communists resorted to after 6 March 1945. The intervention of the (Soviet) Control Allied Committee is emphasized. In most of the cases, the Committee disregarded the constitutional provisions by their deliberate misinterpretation of the Armistice Convention.
