Summary/Abstract: In a global world, educational leaders play a crucial role in developing intercultural communicative competences of teachers and students. The article discusses the notions of culture and intercultural communication competencies based on different definitions and models. Then, it stresses the role of educational leaders in developing such skills in teachers and students. Finally, it presents several successful attempts made in this direction at the level of policy makers, institutions of higher education and schools.
