Summary/Abstract: In this text, I consider the poetical specificness of the tassavuf ghazal as a special genre in the Arabian literature and analyze the historical development of the tassavuf ghazal, revealing the specific features of the early male and female poets and women poets such as Rabi’a al -’Adawiyya and al-Hallaj and those who are considered to be classical representatives of this genre, such as Ibn ‘Arabi and Ibn al-Farid. Analyzing the poetry of these male and female poets, the main part of this text brings up the fundamental poetical specificness of the tassavuf ghazal, namely, its differentia specifica within the Arabic literature. Furthermore, the underlying reasons for marginalization of tassavuf ghazal, which remained in the shadow of the classical Arabic khasidas – that is – the urban and uzrit lyrical poetry, are revealed.
