Summary/Abstract: Contemporary hunting legislation regulates the relationships emerging out of hunting activity, and related to it, or which are the consequence of hunting. Besides, it regulates these issues in connection with the surroundings of wildlife and the ones where man is practising hunt. Wildlife is a part of nature and man is able to influence that nature quite considerably, both in positive and negative directions. This is why the hunting legislation is more and more conceived to regulate the hunting activity as a part of man's activity in the nature in general, and not in an isolated way. In such a way the hunt is given a function of protection of nature and of preservation of biological balance. This is the wider aim of the hunting legislation, which has already its tradition. In contemporary circumstances new possibilities are emerging as well as needs for advancing that legislation. The analysis of hunting legislation of some twenty states is effected along the above mentioned lines, and is particularly concentrated to the following questions: relationships between hunting and other activités important for the national economy; legal regime of ownership in the hunting legislation; protection and preservation of game; the role of hunting in. preserving biological balance; possibilités of advancement of hunting legislation; basic principles of hunting and the advancement of hunting legislation; mutual influences in the sphere of international and municipal hunting laws.
