Summary/Abstract: This is an entirely genuine piece of research work since, as yet, no article on the matter has been published. The topic is limited to the Germans in Romania, due to the fact that during the referenced period, it was the Gennans alone, with or without Romanian citizenship, that were included in the forced labour brigades. Romanian citizens of other nationalities were also present in the labour brigades, such as a small number of Hungarian ethnics. Among other things, the article shows the role the Allied (Soviet) Control Commission played in Romania while organizing the forced labour brigades.
