Summary/Abstract: Traian Brăileanu (1882-1947) Traian Brăileanu is considered one of the Romanian theorists of the sociology of the nation. He published The Theory of Human Community, 1939, 1941. Arrested in 1946 by Communist authorities, he died in prison. Vladimir Macoveiciuc (1905-1946) Vladimir Macoveiciuc was one of the most well-known partisans who fought in the mountains of Bukhovina against the Soviet troops after 1944. Constantin Titel-Petrescu (1888-1957) Constantin Titel-Petrescu, president of the Social-Democratic Party, directed the review Lumea Nouă. After his refusal to compromise with the Romanian Communist Party in 1945-1946, he was politically isolated and repressed.
