Summary/Abstract: The study presents a summary of the history of population in two Romanian provinces, Bukovina and Bessarabia, under the Russian domination, 1812-1918; under the Bolshevik rule between 1939-1941 and after the second World War. The denationalization and Russification initiated by the Tsarist administration reached the climax during the Bolshevik period.
