Summary/Abstract: The paper presents a new and up-to-date translation of the Laws of Lipit-Ishtar (ca. 1936–1926 BC) from Sumerian to Polish. Lipit-Ishtar was a ruler of the First Dynasty of Isin, which started the Old Babylonian period in the history of ancient Mesopotamia. Consequently, his laws bear a similarity to the Code of Hammurabi in many respects.
