The Archaeological Museum in Plovdiv – in dialogue with the time, between past and present

Summary/Abstract: The paper is dedicated to one of the oldest cultural institutions in Bulgaria – the Regional Archaeological Museum (RAM) in Plovdiv. The history of the Museum is briefly outlined together with the content of the permanent exposition. The general categories of visitors are analyzed in a discussion of their reactions expressed in the Guest book of the Museum. The renovated Archaeological Museum in Plovdiv was officially reopened for the public in October 2010 after years of extensive reconstruction of its building and exposition. The author joined the Museum in February 2011 as a PR and a tour guide for the exposition.
