Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on Wolfdietrich Eichler’s visit to the State Zoological Museum in Warsaw. The museum was plundered by German invaders in 1939, and it quickly became an important center of the Polish resistance movement. In 1940, Wolfdietrich Eichler, a German entomologist and parasitologist, was drafted into the Wehrmacht and dispatched to Warsaw. On the recommendation of Walter Arndt, a German zoologist who opposed the Nazi regime, Eichler visited the Warsaw Museum and established scientific collaboration with Tadeusz Jaczewski. The article pays tribute to Wolfdietrich Eichler, an outstanding zoologist and democrat, and his long-standing relationship with Polish zoology researchers.
