Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the tax reforms of the so-called Silent Sejm of 1717; the imposition in Royal Prussia of the new poll tax; the methods of collecting this tax from rural settlements and towns; and the possibility of coercion by individual military units collecting the poll tax intended for their upkeep.
