Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the issues of professional preparation, extracurricular education and apprenticeship in French enterprises of the Poles members of the Great Emigration to France. It describes military courses, French language lessons and internships in armaments and craft enterprises. The article analyses individual cases of veterans, non-commissioned officers and officers of the November Uprising. Source research made it possible to establish that emigrants chose professions offering the hope of long-term employment, such as watchmaking, shoemaking, tailoring, dyeing, sugar-making, printing and typesetting.
