Summary/Abstract: The main task of the paper is to analyze selected video games dedicated to the subject of the World War I. For the purpose of in-depth comparative analysis, two games are confronted with each other: Valiant Hearts and Battlefield 1. Both games are compared in terms of their p-tential use in entertainment-education (edutainment). The presented interpretations serve also to formulate some potential challenges for video games with aspirations to become tools for supporting the traditional education process about the history of the Great War.
