Summary/Abstract: The article addresses the issue of extended interpretation in criminal law. The author takes the stance that the idea of prohibition on this type of interpretation is unjustified. A mode of interpretation which is pronounced impermissible without a specific legal prohibition is incompatible with a law-governed state.
