Summary/Abstract: The Russian Federation, which entered into a de facto war with Ukraine with the start of conflicts in the Donbass in 2014 and then the occupation of Crimea. Russia tried to end this de facto war with a general invasion that started in February 2022. Among the reasons for this occupation, the strategic importance of Ukraine for Russia, the perception of the Russian State that Ukraine, Belarus and Russia should be united under a single administration were also influential. In order to achieve this goal Russia organized its military according to a quick and short-term attack against Ukraine since 2014.
