Summary/Abstract: In Poland, it is the duty of the Minister of Science and Higher Education to issue a decree on the scoreboard to be used for assessing the quality of scientific activity. In order to determine the academic performance of Polish higher education, a uniform, centralized assessment system has been introduced for the evaluation of journals, publishers and conferences, which is reviewed every year. The advantage of a uniform assessment system is to ensure transparency and interoperability. In order to increase transparency, a website has been created which, with several other scientific content, shows the scientific performance of Polish higher education. Categories A, B and C were removed from the evaluation of journals and a 7-score scale (5, 20, 40, 70, 100, 140 and 200) was introduced instead. The scores on the new scale are better at differentiating each category, seeming to be a good tool for evaluating publication performance. If we compare the journals used in the field of social sciences with the list used in Poland, a substantial overlap can be found in most of the committee lists applied by the IX. Section of Economics and Law.
