Aspects of the prayer in the philocalic tradition

Summary/Abstract: The article presents some aspects of the prayer as the philocalic Fathers’ way of life, transmitted to posterity as models of spiritual living in the spirit of Christ’s Gospel and of the eternal tradition of the Christian East. As viewed by the philocalic Fathers, prayer is like a breath of the Spirit, it is also a gift from God and a spiritual personal effort, it fights against the scattering of thoughts, seeks a pure heart and is a fulfillment for man.
