Summary/Abstract: The celebration of the Nativity of the Lord is accompanied by traditions that our people preserved since the times of our ancestors, by spiritual and material joys, by the presents we offer to our loved ones and, above all, by the Christmas Day Liturgy. Unfortunately, for many, these traditions no longer mean anything. The holy childhood of old days is gone. In the context of this situation, we fondly remember the word oftenly used by Father Arsenie Papacioc: “if youth knew, if age could”. Many young people are no longer interested in participating in the Holy Liturgy, singing carols and observing Christmas traditions, because they do not know their meaning. And many of the elderly can no longer fast, can no longer do acts of charity, can no longer visit the sick and come to the Holy Liturgy with difficulty. The solution to the situation? Let the young be catechized by the old, and let the old be supported in their spiritual and philanthropic pursuits by the young.
