Summary/Abstract: The lists of the bishops of Trier mention Agricius as the 4th bishop of this city after Eucharius, Valerius and Maternus. Bishop Agriciu was of particular importance in the history of early Christianity in Gallia Belgica, as he participated in the synod of Arles in the year 314 and, based on his participation, the periods when his predecessors carried out their activity can be calculated. Under Agaricius, the construction of the first cathedral in Trier began, and the relics of St. Matthew and the Shroud of Christ were brought to this city. He is celebrated by Orthodox and Catholics on every January 19.
