Summary/Abstract: The article problematizes the relationships between work and the process of knowledgeproduction, along with its functioning in social and academic contexts. The analysis wasconducted using double autoethnography, understood as a form of critical, engagedfeminist writing, as proposed by Elisabeth Ettorre. The method of autoethnographyenables the reconstruction and interpretation of how we understand and define workin different institutions: a gallery engaging people in producing and translating art anda university at which the authors conduct scientific research and teach. Reflection on thecategories of work and knowledge – combined with a deliberation of gender categories– results in the authors’ proposal to consider knowledge as knowledge on the move.
