Summary/Abstract: After 16 years of functioning, in which they proved their extremely low addressability and capacity to manage the notifications regarding the existence of a case of medical malpractice, being widowed by any other attributions apart from the strict establishment of the existence of a case of medical malpractice, insufficient in terms of the possible engagement of civil liability, it is time to be aware of the opportunity to abolish the malpractice commissions within the public health directorates. The purpose of their creation, to manage cases of medical malpractice by professionals in the matter, outside the court of law, has not found its echo in practice, statistically the result of addressing this commission most times leading only to the increase in the degree of bureaucracy.
