Summary/Abstract: The goal of this article is to present the culture-forming role of bottom-up activists organizing public cultural events in degraded, post-industrial cities beyond metropolis. As a local activist I use an autoethnographic lens to better understand how social empowerment may impact making and remaking local and global cultural models thanks to their ambiguous center-peripheral entanglement. Welcome to the ethnographic walk around one of the former provincial capitals.
