Summary/Abstract: The author looks at the local community primarily through the lens of its foreign residents - immigrants. The article contains conclusions from the research conducted among local government officials in Poznań, and the interpretation presented is based on an analysis of the narratives present in the councilors’ discourses. Based on the discourse analysis, the author characterizes ‘why and how’ some migrants are accepted and others rejected from the local community.
