Prayer and Hesychasm in the Modern ”City”

Summary/Abstract: The present study aims at deepening the issue of practicing hesychasm in the city, of the high spiritual life practiced by Christians in the context of todayʹs world, of the monk of the world or rather of experiencing the presence of God in daily life, just as the hermit or monk lives in the monastery. For our world is like a great desert, and our life like the pilgrimage of the Jews led by Moses into the wilderness to reach the promised Land.
