Summary/Abstract: The article traces the emergence and historical development of the genre 𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑑𝑦 over the years, taking into account the socio-political events that contributed to the formation of the genre’s characteristics. The purpose of the article is to discover what challenges the genre is facing and what the prospects for its future development are.
