Summary/Abstract: The article is about the renaming in 1934 of the village ofBazirgyan Kyoy of Tapchileshtovo. The new name was proposed by a committee, working in 1931-1932 to the Ministry of the Interior. It included officials from different departments and lecturers from Sofia University. The author assumes that the new name is in memory simultaneously of the two Kalofer brothers Hristo Petkov Tapchileshtov (1808 - 1875) and Nikola Petkov Tapchileshtov (1817 -1895). A motive for this is the mention in literature until 1932 of the two brothers always together. In the village, however, they know that it is named in memory only ofHristo P. Tapchileshtov. Until recently, in the city hall there was a hanging portrait, gifted probably by his son Petko Hr. Tapchileshtov after December 1934. The nomination in memory only of the big Brother probably has a random character. It may have been triggered by an article about it of the archivist Konstantin Mutafov, printed in February 1932. Because of the lack of written motives for renaming the village, it is not possible to express a definite and final opinion.
