Summary/Abstract: The Baranavichy fortified area was one of the most powerful Polish border fortifications in the 1930-s. It consisted of both old German, modernized by Polish sappers, longterm fortifications, and new, Polish pillboxes of the different types. Fortifications near Baranavichy aroused interest from the side of the Soviet intelligence service. In turn, the Polish counterintelligence agencies sought to prevent the leakage of information on this issue.
