Summary/Abstract: A characteristic feature of Belarusian-Polish relations in the mid-late 1950-th was cultural cooperation. This was explained by the common historical, geographical, linguistic and family ties between the Polish and Belarusian peoples. At the same time, the prevailing principle of „socialist realism” in the USSR influenced the development of cultural relations. A characteristic feature of the cultural exchange between the Polish and Belarusian peoples was the suppression of sharp gaps in works of art. The insignificant place of the Belarusian language in the cultural life of Belarus led to the fact that the Polish reader did not single out and did not distinguish the Belarusian Soviet culture from the all-Union and cultural processes that took place in the Soviet Union.
