Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the content of textbooks on the history of Belarus in terms of shaping the national historical narrative in the years 1991–2020. The author presents the differences in the perception of the past that occur in textbooks used in secondary and higher education. It presents the most important historical issues that were interpreted differently under the influence of the changing historical policy of Belarus. The author also analyzes the conditions for shaping the national historical narrative. In addition, the author shows the contribution of individual scientists to the creation of a national historical narrative in the 21st century. In particular, this applies, inter alia, to Mikhail Bitch, Pavel Loyka, Yury Bokhan, Mikhas’ Tcharniauski.
