Summary/Abstract: Beyond any prediction on the evolution of Europe in the 21st century, the reality of 2022 brings to our attention the existence of an inter-state armed conflict that can degenerate and have serious effects on the entire international community. Marked by an unprecedented solidarity, the reaction to the commission of international crimes in the Ukrainian space has multiple dimensions, highlighting equally at the level of the main intergovernmental organizations variants of action that circumscribe the political, economic, but also legal sphere. Regardless of whether we consider gradually imposed sanctions, starting from economic sanctions that affect individually and collectively the aggressor state and its supporters and reaching political sanctions, such as the exclusion of European intergovernmental organizations - the Russian Federation withdraws from the Council of Europe - we must to note the enthusiasm with which the international jurisdictions – the European Court of Human Rights, the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court – are involved in finding legal solutions to complete as quickly as possible and without serious consequences in terms of life, bodily integrity, health and property, and of the other social values that define the European identity – human rights, democracy and the rule of law – of the armed conflict in Ukraine.
