Particular aspects of volition in digital markets

Summary/Abstract: Digital development led to the emergence and global expansion of new markets, generically called "digital markets", where volition in contractual agreements involves particular aspects, especially when one of the contracting parties is a consumer. The article analyzes the emergence of digital markets in the European Union, as well as the initiatives of the European authorities, in particular competition authorities, to protect volition in digital markets, with implications on the antitrust approach of the Union and shifting of paradigm in competition policies.
