Co-operative Library and Information Providing

Summary/Abstract: This article discusses an important issue for the theory and the practice of the librarianship. It presents a comprehensive Bulgarian model for a co-operative library and information providing, implemented by Varna University of Management and "Raiko Tsonchev" High School of Tourism and Entrepreneurship in Dobrich. The beginning of this cooperative model was put together with the establishment of the High School and it was developed parallel with the development of the two educational institutions. By applying this model, their leaders demonstrated a modern thinking and they worked actively to meet and respond adequately to the needs of the students, teachers, parents, administrative staff and other users. By implementing this model, they responded to the challenges of the informational society of knowledge.
