Summary/Abstract: Abstract: The tourism industry has evolved rapidly in recent decades. In addition to the positive effects of generating growth in the destination areas, there are also negative effects with an impact on areas such as environmental, environmental, political, social and economic. Sustainable development needs to be changed, including in terms of improving the accounting for the relevance of information, in order to increase user satisfaction with key environmental decisions in order to achieve stability goals. The growing need for sustainability is also underlined by the authors Minciu, R., Popescu, D., Pădurea, M., (2014) and also a result of the large volume of knowledge and concern regarding the impact on tourism and environmental issues in general. The development of unsustainable tourism can lead to serious damage to societies, but also to the environment and the entire tourism industry. This article aims to analyze a number of 10 specialized articles, from various international databases, which have analyzed over time the effect that the development of sustainable tourism has on the overall long-term progress of the economy. Towards the end, we aim to discuss the Sustainable Development Goals in Tourism, which derive from the Sustainable Development Goals set by the World Tourism Organization. They identify key research topics in a way that provides a planning framework for further research in this area.
