Summary/Abstract: This study investigates the names of 655 restaurants in Jordan. The restaurant names for the corpora were collected from three different online sources. The results show that various naming-patterns (i.e. markers of geographical areas and colloquialism in Jordan, Arab-Islamic cultural heritage, European, including Turkish, and Asian stereotypes, Americanisation, and personal names) are behind the restaurant-naming process in Jordan. The findings of the analysis indicate the diversity within contem¬porary Jordan’s culinary tradition and delights (e.g. Arab Middle Eastern, American, Italian, Turkish, Indian, and Chinese).
