Summary/Abstract: Within International Relations, states are the most important actors. The way in which models of relations between states are initiated and developed depends to a great extent on the power of the involved states. The international scene becomes thus, according to Zbigniew Brzezinski, the great chessboard on which actors act frequently through power relations. But which are the elements that can measure states’ power?
