Summary/Abstract: The digital economy is the global network of economic and social activities that are enabled by platforms such as the internet, mobile and sensor networks. According to functional objectives, digital economy has three primary components: supporting infrastructure, electronic business processes, and electronic commerce transactions. A digital economy is one that is primarily concerned with the production and sale of electronic goods and services by businesses that function in a virtual environment and deliver those goods and services via electronic commerce. Maximizing the benefit of the digital economy requires action taken by all levels of governments, industry and the community.
