Summary/Abstract: Public procurement in Poland in its current shape and form has been functioning for almost thirty years. During this time, emphases have been placed in various manners on particular procurement rules, procedures or types of proceedings. Public procurement has also been given additional objectives related to public policies and strategies for achieving sustainable development goals. I have no doubt that similar activities related to attempts to solve immediate problems will also be undertaken in the future. However, taking into account the state of affairs in which we operate in Poland, in my opinion, the Polish public procurement system will have to face two key challenges in the coming years. The first is the issue of staffing in public procurement. The second challenge is ongoing digitalization and its consequences.
