Summary/Abstract: A prenuptial agreement is a formal contract by which future spouses regulate property-legal relations, deviating from the legal regime of property. Under the influence of the media and cinematography, there is a prejudice in the public that a prenuptial agreement is necessary only when the financial status of the future spouses is drastically different and that the proposal of one of the (future) spouses to conclude a prenuptial agreement is a sign of disrespect for the other contracting party.
