Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the nature of relationship between new methods of logistics management and internationalisation of Polish enterprises. It begins with defining the place and role of international logistics within the remit of international economics and management theory, with special mention of logistics in the context of gains from trade, emerging strategy and situational analysis. The discussion of the nature and role of performance measures such as the Indicator of Logistics Internationalisation, Logistics Managers Index (LMI) and Logistics Performance Index (LPI) are illustrated with examples of survey results and ranking lists showing the level of logistics internationalisation and infrastructure development in Poland relative to other countries. The article in some detail discusses a new three-step method of evaluating the level of logistics internationalisation, and in conclusion indicates that firms need to include international logistics in their business model. The efficacy assessment of a chosen strategy is linked to the logit method and the measurement of logistics absorbency (LA) of regions and sectors.
