Main determinants of Poland’s food security and an attempt of its measuring

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the publication is to present the essence of food security and to place it in the contemporary reality. The author paid particular attention to the problem of the stability of food prices in the world and the factors affecting their variability in recent years. Then, the author emphasized the role of the EU membership for the maintaining Poland’s food security and made its assessment by measuring food self-sufficiency for the country. In the article, a descriptive method, an analysis and statistical inference were used.
