Summary/Abstract: If in the postmodern period the diary was considered drawer literature, we have to underline that the inhabitants of Târgoviște, through the voice of Radu Petrescu, manifested their freedom by writing, reavealing four recurrente themes. Every page of the diary reflects the image of the author, the fiction succeeding in outlining the stylistic physiognomy of the writer. The diary became, thus, an instrument of knowledge and self-knowledge.
