Summary/Abstract: The present study realizes an image of the variety of Romanian vocabulary reflected in both the written and the audio-visual press of the period 1990 - so far, a sensitive mechanism of the changes in the political, cultural, social, economic, etc, with an essential role in the absorption and in the dissemination of some of the most varied linguistic creations. The foreign sources indicated by the Romanian vocabulary are evidence of the contacts our people have had over the centuries, which influenced it, thus changing their physiognomy. Internal creations continue to perfect a system, that of popular Latin. Thus, it is noted that the Romanian lexicon evolved and internationalized, adapting new formative elements, in relation to its internal rules. The vocabulary of modern Romanian literary language has a heterogeneous character due to the influences exerted over time: Turkish, Greek, Russian, Neo-Gothic, Slavonic, Polish, Hungarian, Latin, German, French, Italian and, in recent years, English. After, in the old period of the Romanian literary language, the linguistic models that highlighted the evolution of our language led to the enrichment of the internal structure of the vocabulary and less to its modernization, in the modern period there is a reorientation regarding the sources of the loan, producing what Sextil Puşcariu calls the re-Romanianization of the Romanian language.
