Summary/Abstract: Compromised in the eyes of the Turks because of his public support for the Greek‘s Revolution for freedom from the Ottoman suzerainty, the Metropolitan Veniamin Costachi had to leave Moldavia, in May 1821, for Colincăuţi. The article presents the hierarch‘s political approaches from the exile, who mediated the rescuing of Moldavia through an ample correspondence with refugee boyars and with other Romanians, as well as with the Russian high dignitaries.
