Summary/Abstract: Recent research literature (especially Niczyporuk 2015, 2018) emphasizes the juridical character of Aaron Alexander Olizarovius’s treatise De politica hominum societate (1651). Thus, the focus of interpretation shifts from the peasant question (Czacki 1861, Lelewel 1855, Kot 1929, Valkūnas 1978) to juridical and philosophical concepts which, although closely related to social justice, have a much broader meaning (Jarra 1931, Rybicki 1959, Pyszka 2002). The paper discusses the restructuring of Aristotle’s practical philosophy at the centre of which Olizarovius places economics as a science of natural social relations. Next, the definition of the societas politica is reconstructed. Olizarowski bases it on the “economic partnership” or “company” known from Roman law (societas) and links it to his answer to the question of the relation between nature and contract.
