Summary/Abstract: Viktor Paskov’s ‘Ballad of Georg Henich’ is considered a literary achievement. The present text tries to implicitly point out at least some reasons for its elitism by examining the conflict in the work. This conflict is multi-layered. For example, the opposition of the characters refers not only to their social status and to their material well-being, but also to their creative poverty and spiritual wealth.
