Summary/Abstract: Repetition has become central in understanding our postmodern identity. Deleuze, Derrida, Baudrillard were rather operating with concepts like repetition and difference in framing a liquid relation between the Self and the Other. Within this evanescent relation, the self becomes a repetition of the Other as well as an avatar of the difference. Repetition leads, thus, to the deconstruction of the proper name making impossible its irrepetability. Without a proper name, the signature loses its referentality. Its deictic function tracing the presence of the author is - in the end - reiterating its absence from the text.
