Summary/Abstract: During the Divine Liturgy of the Orthodox Church, called the Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom, there is a particular prayer, uttered by the priest alone, called the prayer of the Cherubic Hymn, where we can find several theological ideas of sacrifice. The meaning of this prayer is that Christ himself is the priest and the victim of the sacrifice and the Liturgy is a door to the eternal Liturgy of heavens, where Christ sacrificed himself once and for all.
